EDITOR'S INTRODUCTION
My article 'A Market for Values As An Instrument to Renew and
Democratize Capitalism' elaborates on the proposal to establish a
market for values, which I formulated in a previous article ('A
Market for Values and Metavalues', Issue 79 of Philosophy for
Business). Such a market would allow us to reconcile the paradigm of
economic utility, followed by companies and individuals, with
responsiveness to social preferences [...]

I. 'A MARKET FOR VALUES AS AN INSTRUMENT TO RENEW AND DEMOCRATIZE
CAPITALISM' BY MARCO SENATORE
Currently, individuals can only participate in collective decisions
through the assumption of two roles: voters and consumers. By
electing their representatives, voters contribute to form local and
national assemblies that take very important decisions in areas such
as healthcare, culture, social policies. Through buying goods and
services, consumers indicate to firms their own preferences, and
influence the dynamics of prices, among other variables [...]

II. 'HOW TO IMPLEMENT CORE VALUES? PROMOTING PRACTICAL WISDOM IN
BUSINESS ENTITIES BY MEANS OF THE SOCRATIC METHOD' BY MICHAEL NOAH
WEISS
In this paper, the Socratic method - a method central in the
discipline of philosophical practice - is presented. It will be shown
how it can be of use in order to sustainably implement ethical values
in companies, as well as how it can foster practical wisdom
(phronesis) in business entities. For this purpose, the content of
this paper consists of a presentation of the Socratic method in a
manual-like style, a short case that exemplifies eventual outcomes of
the Socratic method when applied in the economic sector, and a
discussion about the relevance of phronesis in business contexts [...]

III. 'HOW TO LET PHILOSOPHY ACT IN THE CONTEMPORARY BUSINESS
ENVIRONMENT?' BY CHIARA SIVIERI
The purpose of this paper is to spark some reality-based dialogue and
reflections about the role philosophy can play for people, in the
contemporary world. To keep these reflections as realistic as
possible, we narrowed the pragmatic and specific field this paper
aims to investigate to a specific domain: the business environment.
Although this sphere will not be analyzed in depth, it plays a role
as the implicit reference and proscenium for the whole paper's
reflections [...]

IV. 'PHILOSOPHICAL ASPECTS OF DECISION MAKING IN THE DOCTRINE OF
VALUE BASED MANAGEMENT' BY PIOTR WOJCIECHOWSKI
In this article I will describe several philosophical issues, which
accompany me in the decision making process in the company that I
manage. It is hard to say to what extent these issues are generally
recognized by managers, who are not philosophers. Of course, as a
philosopher I prefer to consider hypothetical situations and to carry
out intellectual experiments, which sometimes may even lead to
formulate practical postulates. Making real decisions, although it
belongs to my daily duties, is still a task, which is far beyond the
limits of my psychological comfort [...]
